3/30/2023 0 Comments Nioh 2 walkthrough![]() In Nioh 2 Yokai Shift is a mechanic that allows you to become possessed by your Guardian Spirits and enact powerful attacks and special moves. Check out our Where to Farm Soul Cores Guide to find out where you need to go to get them. This can be replenished by defeating enemies and absorbing other Soul Cores. Your ability to perform Yokai abilities is locked to your Anima Gauge, a new gauge in Nioh 2 which appears as a purple bar below your Ki. Once attuned at a Shrine, the Soul Cores give you the ability to use some of the notable skills of the Yokai you stole it from. They are obtained by defeating the more powerful Yokai you face and can be used by attuning them with your Guardian Spirit. Soul Cores are a new item in Nioh 2 that hold the remnants of a Yokai's power. Watch closely during a fight for a red flash around your foe as this is your signal to activate the Counter and deal some serious health and Ki damage with a Yokai ability. These special skills will enable your Guardian Spirits to do powerful new moves, and have special effects that will enhance your overall build. Try to unlock the Samurai Skill called Running Water as soon as possible as this will allow you to dodge away from an enemy and perform a Ki Pulse at the same time.Ī new feature in Nioh 2 is Yokai Abilities which are special moves that are unlocked by obtaining, purifying and attuning Yokai Soul Cores. Ki does however gradually recover over time and by tapping R1 when a blue glow surrounds your character will create a Ki Pulse which will cause your stamina to increase. Whenever you dash, dodge and weapon swing you will deplete Ki, therefore it is important that you keep an eye on your Ki because if it runs out you will not be able to attack or avoid an incoming blade which will result in the death of your character. Make sure that the two weapons you decide to choose offer different aproaches to battle, one heavy hitter alongside a faster blade. In a low stance the switchglaive can be used like a dagger, in mid stance it transforms into a spear-like weapon and in high stance the switchglaive can be weilded like a scythe. ![]() The hatchets allow swift hacking at your foes and can also be thrown at distant enemies while the switchglaive, depending on your stance can be used three different ways. ![]() Many of them return from the original game and its DLCs but there are new double hatchets and switchglaive that you may want to try out. There is a whole array of starter weapons from which to choose from and you are able to select two of them from the get-go. ![]()
